Thomas Purves
Thomas Purves

Thomas Purves is a Toronto-based product designer, futurist and payments professional. As business leader for Product Innovation at Visa inc., Thomas is responsible for mobile and money transfer programs in Canada. Thomas has spent more than a decade creating and designing consumer and enterprise-level web services, predominantly in financial services, ecommerce and social media. Previous to Visa, Thomas was among the designers of the CertaPay (now Interac) Email Money Transfer Service, and formerly the designer of TD Bank’s online banking service.

Thomas holds bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Queen's University and an MBA from the Rotaman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Kate Zilla-Bâ
Kate Zilla-Bâ

Kate Zilla-Ba is COO of Mondato and has overseen the development of the search portal and industry information services at www.mondato.com. As editor of the bi-weekly Mondato Newsletter, she tries to always ensure insightful analysis and summaries of what is happening in the value transfer industry. A speaker at conferences across the world, she is a well-recognized authority on how mobile telephony impacts the value transfer and payment arenas.

Kate is a seasoned business and marketing strategist with over 18 years of experience ranging from business financial management to a 12 year stint in custom research consulting for major corporations. During the course of her career she has enjoyed bringing common sense and analytics to solve complex problems across a variety of settings in retail banking and financial service, insurance, and consumer products. With years of accumulated experience in a variety of international settings and a mastery of several languages, her formal educational background also includes an MBA from Babson College; BA from Columbia University; and a Green Belt from Raytheon’s Six Sigma program.
